We have realised we actually made a big mistake from the above phase 2. We realised our error immediately that we should put the both accounts of messenger back in the default context with a brand new number. In this way, asterisk server is able to recognise both of them and calls are able to be established!!

Therefore deleted the configuration we have done earlier on in phase 2.

• context = training in sip.config have been removed
• [training] context have been removed in extensions.config

In other words, our sip.config and extensions.config become..

Although we have failed in accomplishing MSN task on phase 1. 俗话说，失败乃成功之母。We did not feel defeated and continue trying out on our task.

We realised that we do not need to included the msn numbers in enum.zone and therefore the configurations that we have done previously on enum.zone has been removed. In addition, we had added new configurations in extensions.config, similarly, we did some changes in our sip.config


after saving our configurations, we were once defeated again! For the above configurations, we have acheived something different from our phase 1. We managed to establish calls between both MSN accounts but not MSN to our Asterisk Server.

Even though we were pretty disappointed but we quickly picked up our mood and continue troubleshoot in what we have done above.

and added the various configuration in the both enum.zone and sip.config





The above configurations only allows us to achieve establishing calls between MSN and Asterisk Server. However, it does not allow us to establish calls between our both MSN accounts.Which means, we have only achieve half of the tasks we are assigned to.

Since the meeting yesterday with our TIC, we have been trying hard to improve.. to walk a big mile stone forward for our project and we did it!

Continuing with the post yesterday.. today i shall specifically type down stage by stage.. what mistakes did we made, what changes did we do for our asterisk server.

In the beginning, the information that we searched from the internet is really less than what we can imagine. We got to know that only the older version supports SIP protocol but no the current version of messenger.

We decided to try our luck with the version of messenger found in the lab(since it is a old version) but it does not work. The task was pretty rare in real life. We had the thought of giving up, however, we managed to chance upon THIS website while we were researching in T12702.

From the website given from, we found out that the messenger version we need is version5.1. However, the one that can be found in the lab belongs to version 4. Therefore we went round searching for a version 5 and we managed to find it!

We did what we were told on the website for messenger. The real problem that we have faced is asterisk server! Having the previous experience from callmanager and asterisk inter trunking. We decided to work our way out for messenger.

I can't wait to share this with everyone that.. the task we have been working on for the past two weeks have been accomplished!!

We are done with messenger!!!! We are a big Big BIG step closer to SPinnovex!!! SPinnovex!!! Here i come!!!

Today at 3pm, we finally met our TIC to give a briefing on what should we prepare for our presentation on the following wednesday, at the same time we were given new tasks to work on.

The tasks are :

Asterisk Servers

• establishing calls from messenger to messenger
• Establish calls from softphones to PDA (using WIFI)
• Establishing video conferencing with softphones
• Establishing analog phone calls to asterisk servers
  

Reports

• Prepare a presentation slides for selection of projects on wednesday
• Write a report for our entire fyp project
  
• Send a copy of our project reports to our TIC-Miss Yin Ma Thwe and technician - Mark

Woohoo!! as we have discussed earlier with our TIC, we shall abandon the researching for SCCP call-making.

Mrs choo-yin ma thwe, has given us a 2 new task.

1) Creating a msn account to make calls with the asterisk server.
2) Creating H323 and SIP trunk between both asterisk 1 and 8.

Ganbateh!!!

PS. according to our seeker-keller, there isn't much information about the msn on net. So i guess, we have to develop it on ourselves~~ T_T
