Competition This Thursday!
It's been a long time ever since we've updated our blog. The Mighty Girls have been through a roller coaster 2009 ever since the very last sem in our poly life started.
We've been through SPinnovex. The 4 days of formal dress code left us with eyebags and tiredness. But i guess all these are worth it.. right Mighty Girls?
Anyway, the faintest update of our situation right now. We've bid goodbye to SPinnovex and the project presentation and we welcome the COMPETITION! Our project have been selected for the RnD - Research and Development project Competition which is on the upcoming thursday!
Guess what's our current situation like? Rushing presentation slides and staying "overnight" in school almost everyday. Well well, i guess our eyebags are getting thicker and thicker. T.T
Anyway, gives us your bestest wishes on the upcoming thursday! *fingers crossed*
Lotsa Love

Messenger Phase 3(Final)
We have realised we actually made a big mistake from the above phase 2. We realised our error immediately that we should put the both accounts of messenger back in the default context with a brand new number. In this way, asterisk server is able to recognise both of them and calls are able to be established!!
Therefore deleted the configuration we have done earlier on in phase 2.
- context = training in sip.config have been removed
- [training] context have been removed in extensions.config
In other words, our sip.config and extensions.config become..
**********************************
extensions.conf
[default]
exten=>_5564111001,1,Dial(SIP/fyp)
exten=>_5564111002,1,Dial(SIP/fyp1)
exten=>_556411XXXX,102,Hangup
sip.conf
[fyp]
username=fyp
type=friend
context=default
host=dynamic
[fyp1]
username=fyp1
type=friend
context=default
host=dynamic
************************************
This leads to our success of configuring MSN task. In addition, we added 556411xxxx into the routeplan of our callmanager which allows MSN to be able to establish calls to our CallManager. In other words, We have achieved our task for MSN.
Being able to establish calls from....
- MSN to MSN
- MSN to Asterisk Server
- MSN to CallManager Server

Messenger Phase 2
Although we have failed in accomplishing MSN task on phase 1. 俗话说,失败乃成功之母。We did not feel defeated and continue trying out on our task.
We realised that we do not need to included the msn numbers in enum.zone and therefore the configurations that we have done previously on enum.zone has been removed. In addition, we had added new configurations in extensions.config, similarly, we did some changes in our sip.config
*******************************
extensions.config
[training]
exten=>_9564111259,1,Dial(SIP/fyp)
exten=>_9564111260,1,Dial(SIP.fyp1)
exten=>_956411XXXX,102,Hangup
sip.config
[fyp]
username=fyp
type=friend
context=training
host=dynamic
[fyp1]
username=fyp1
type=friend
context=training
host=dynamic
********************************
after saving our configurations, we were once defeated again! For the above configurations, we have acheived something different from our phase 1. We managed to establish calls between both MSN accounts but not MSN to our Asterisk Server.
Even though we were pretty disappointed but we quickly picked up our mood and continue troubleshoot in what we have done above.

Messenger Phase 1
we decided the following numbers for our messenger account..
and added the various configuration in the both enum.zone and sip.config
********************************
enum.zone
9.5 IN NAPTR10 10 "u" "E2U+voice:sip" "!^.*$!
sip:9564111259@192.168.13.109
0.6 IN NAPTR10 10 "u" "E2U+voice:sip" "!^.*$!
sip:9564111260@192.168.13.111
sip.conf
[9564111259]
username=9564111259
type=friend
host=dynamic
defaultip=192.168.13.109
[9564111260]
username=9564111260
type=friend
host=dynamic
defaultip=192.168.13.111
******************************
The above configurations only allows us to achieve establishing calls between MSN and Asterisk Server. However, it does not allow us to establish calls between our both MSN accounts.Which means, we have only achieve half of the tasks we are assigned to.

Messenger Prologue
Since the meeting yesterday with our TIC, we have been trying hard to improve.. to walk a big mile stone forward for our project and we did it!
Continuing with
the post yesterday.. today i shall specifically type down stage by stage.. what mistakes did we made, what changes did we do for our asterisk server.
In the beginning, the information that we searched from the
internet is really less than what we can imagine. We got to know that only the older version supports SIP protocol but no the current version of messenger.
We decided to try our luck with the version of messenger found in the lab(since it is a old version) but it does not work. The task was pretty rare in real life. We had the thought of giving up, however, we managed to chance upon
THIS website while we were researching in T12702.
From the website given from, we found out that the messenger version we need is version5.1. However, the one that can be found in the lab belongs to version 4. Therefore we went round searching for a version 5 and we managed to find it!
We did what we were told on the website for messenger. The real problem that we have faced is asterisk server! Having the previous experience from callmanager and asterisk inter trunking. We decided to work our way out for messenger.
